The word diwali is derived from deepawli .it means rows of lamps. On this day we light lamps in our houses. So the festival is known as the festival of lights. There are many stories about its celebration. According to some people ,on this day rama returned to ayodhya with sita and laxmana after fourteen years of exile. So people were happy. They decorated their houses. At night they lighted lamps. They put them in rows. According to others, lord Krishna killed narkasur on this day. People began to celebrate deepawali as a symbol of his victory. This year l celebrated deepawali with great joy. First of all l cleaned my house with help of my brother hari. We went to the market. We purchased some toys, balloons, and sweets from the market . we decorated our house with balloons, toys and pictures. Our house looked very clean. At noon we worshiped hanuman. At night, we put lamps in every corner of the house. At about 8p.m. we worshipped laxmi, the goddess of welth . then our mother gave us sweets, khil-batashe and other delicious things. Deepawali is a good festival. It is full of decoration and joys. In its name , houses and shops are cleaned.

While washing germy kill. But it is associated with gambling. Some people try their luck. It is a bad practice. Due to this practice some people destroy the peace of their homes. Every educated person must do his best to end this practice. A day before festival great preparations are made. Houses are white washed and well cleaned. Furniture, doors windows are all polished and vanished. The walls are decorated with curtains and pictures. In every house sweets are prepared or purchased from the market. Sweets are exchanged among friends and relatives. Got tired. The next day has dawned. Leave the bed. Have bath, your sister would be coming to put kumkum on your forehead on the bhaiyadoj and if you are in mathuar or can afford to be there have a dip in the river water Yamuna to get a salvation. Yamuna is the daughter of yamaraj. She would reaommend your case to her father offer a gift package of sweets and clothes of your sister on this auspicious day. Thus a coincidence mahavir swami and swami dayanand lift the ghost on this very day. Naturally jains and the followers of arya samaj celebrate deepawali as their nirwan diwas the day of salvation too.

Sita was greatly hurt to hear these harsh words from rama,s mouth. Rama,s words, like the vayra, pierced her tender heart. Tears began to roll down her cheeks. However, she firmly said to rama, ravana had seized me by force and imprisoned me. It is not my fault. Hence, there can be no blot on my character. I am as pure in thought, word and deed as i was when ravana abducted me. Yet you hesitate to accept  me. Kindle a fire for me. I will readily enter the fire and end my life. Lakshmana was greatly pained to see sita,s plight. But he was helpless against rama,s wishes. Obeying rama,s order, he kindled a fire. Sita walked round the fire and prayed to agnideva, o agnideva you know my purity. If only rama lies in my thought, word and deed, protect me. Having prayed to agnideva, sita jumped into the fire. The monkeys and demons were aghast and could not bear to see the terrible sight. Suddenly, there was a miracle. All the gods, including lord brahma, appeared in the fire.
